And when the soul longed for their response, He, glorified and exalted is He, informed that they were astonished, so He said: "She said, O assembly (of leaders)." Then she clarified what had entered her from the fear of the owner of this book by saying: "Advise me," meaning: be generous to me by clarifying what I should do regarding this matter that I will respond with regarding this book. She made the consultation a fatwa for the sake of expansion, because the fatwa is the response in the incident, and the ruling of what is correct is borrowed from [UNTRANSLATED-LATIN: al-fita] in the age that is the essence of life. Then she justified her matter to them by saying that her affair is always to consult them in every significant and trivial matter, so how about this serious matter. In that is her appeal to them by honoring them, respecting them, and giving them esteem. She said: "I was not," meaning: in any way, "to cut off a matter," meaning: to act upon it and finalize it without being hesitant in it, "until you witness me." And this indicated the abundance of her intellect and the goodness of her manners. For this reason, she reaped the fruit of such obedience from them in both ease and hardship. So, He, the Most High, began to inform about their response by saying.
