And when the evidence of His wisdom was completed by this story, the listener expected the indication of His knowledge, glorified and exalted is He. He said, beginning with the letter of expectation, indicating that there is no denial in the virtue of the latter over the former, adding to what you estimate: 'Indeed, We gave Moses and his brother Aaron, blessings and peace be upon them, wisdom, guidance, knowledge, and victory over those who opposed them, and might: ﴿And indeed, We gave﴾ meaning: by virtue of Our greatness ﴿David and Solomon﴾ meaning: the son of David, and they were among the followers of Moses, blessings and peace be upon him, and after him for long periods of time. ﴿Knowledge﴾ meaning: a reward of great knowledge from the speech of birds, animals, and others, which We did not give to anyone before them.

And when the estimation was: so acting according to what it necessitated, he added to it his saying: ﴿And they said﴾ in gratitude for it, indicating the nobility of knowledge and alerting its people to humility: ﴿All praise﴾ meaning: the encompassing of all attributes of perfection ﴿is for Allah﴾ meaning: the One who has no equal, and to Him belongs majesty and beauty ﴿Who has preferred us﴾ meaning: by what He has given us of that ﴿over many of His believing servants﴾ meaning: those for whom faith has become a character.
