﴿You are﴾. And when they answered him with imitation, he said to them what it means: 'Elevate your imitation to its utmost limits. For advancement and priority are not proof of correctness, and falsehood does not become truth by age. This is what he means by his saying: ﴿And your forefathers, the ancients﴾, meaning: those who are as ancient as they can be: Do they have a description other than what you have acknowledged (p-51) regarding the lack of hearing, benefit, and harm?
