Commentary
And when defining His reality, glorified is He, by itself is impossible due to the lack of composition, the definition of it is only correct by the necessary clear external. The listener yearned for what he would respond with regarding it, so he began his saying informing about it: ﴿He said﴾ that is: Moses [turning away from defining it by actions to inform that there is nothing comparable to Him, and that His existence is distinct from the existence of everything else]. Defining Him, glorified is He, by His most evident actions which no one is able to claim participation in, indicating in His address in seeking the essence that there is no equivalent to Him: I say to you and to whom you intended by seeking the truth to deceive them: He is ﴿the Lord﴾ [that is: the Creator, the Originator, and the Planner] ﴿of the heavens﴾ [all of them] ﴿and the earth﴾ [even if their bodies are distant from one another] ﴿and what is between them﴾, and that has manifested the world which is His creation, and you are not independent of it for the blink of an eye. So this is the favor, not your favor upon me with upbringing until I became independent of you, and this is the distancing by kindness, while disobedience is through disbelief. It is not your distancing of my people by destroying them while they are in your obedience, and for their predecessors upon you is a favor that you do not know. ﴿If you are﴾ [that is: a firm existence] ﴿certain﴾ that is: characterized by what the people of knowledge have regarding the foundations of the religion, from the trust in what you believe [a stable characterization], and the answer is: You have known that, and you have known that there is no answer more fitting than it, because the mentioned is changeable, so there is a changer for it that does not change, and this is what We have sent. That is: If you have certainty, then you know Him, due to the intensity of His manifestation and the universality of His light.
