And when their state of return was imagined, in their being taken by their punishment, [and their hastening towards it included belittling, denial, and reliance on the fact that they are enjoying themselves, and their hopes being attached to the prolongation of their enjoyment, and those who harm him wishing that he would hasten for them], this caused, glorified and exalted is He, the question of their caller to be comforting, consoling, and reassuring. So He said: ﴿Have you seen﴾ meaning: suppose that the matter is as they believe regarding the long life of their enjoyment, then inform me ﴿If We grant them enjoyment﴾ meaning: in this world with abundant living and a pure life.

And when the life of the disbeliever is in the utmost constriction and distress, even if he is in the purest abundance, He expressed what indicates drought with a form of scarcity, even if the context indicates that it is for abundance. He said: ﴿Years﴾.
