Commentary
He said, responding to him in a confused manner, confident in Allah's promise of safety, acknowledging what he had murmured about killing, because it had not been realized. He left killing him only in search of evidence: 'I did it then,' meaning: when I killed him, 'and I am among the misguided.' (p-22) Meaning: I do not know a religion, so I am standing at every direction until my Lord directs me to what He wills. Ibn Jarir said: The Arabs place misguidance in the position of ignorance, and ignorance in the position of misguidance - this has ended. And it has been previously mentioned in Al-Fatiha by Al-Hirali, regarding this, there is valuable speech indicating that this action was a mistake on my part.
