And when the meaning of ﴿Dammarna﴾ [Ash-Shu'ara: 172] is that We judged by destroying them, He added to it His saying: ﴿Wa amtarna﴾ and indicated the punishment by its transitive form with 'ala' saying: ﴿Alayhim mataran﴾ that is: and what a rain it is.
