Commentary

And when He, glorified and exalted is He, negated that there is anything from what Moses, blessings and peace be upon him, feared in this confirmed manner, and the manifestation of that in confronting the head is more evident and clearer, He stated it in His saying: ﴿So go﴾ meaning: this guarantees protection and preservation, that I say to you both: go to ﴿Pharaoh﴾ himself, even if his kingdom is great and his armies are mighty. ﴿And say﴾ meaning: at the time of your arrival to him and to those with him: ﴿Indeed, we are messengers﴾ He singled it out intending by it the good kind for the two, indicating by the oneness that they are in their support and agreement like a single soul. There is no contradiction, for it either occurred twice, each one in a different form, or once in a way that indicates duality and agreement. Thus, the expression is valid for both. And He did not use the dual form here because the context does not necessitate it to indicate the request of our Prophet ﷺ for assistance, unlike what occurred in Surah Taha. ﴿Lord of the worlds﴾ meaning: the Benefactor to all of creation, the Planner for them.
