Commentary
And when he called to Allah, the Most High, with that which had no flaw in it, they knew that they were incapable of attacking anything of it. They turned to deception upon the minds of the weak by saying, "Indeed, you are among those who are bewitched." This means: those who have been greatly affected by their magic time after time, while they are human beings with appetites, which are the lungs. So the magic has affected you until it has overwhelmed you. Al-Baghawi reported from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, that its meaning is: from the created beings who are dependent on food and drink. It is said: he bewitched him, meaning: he made him dependent on food and drink. This is supported by their interpretation indicating that he is not suitable for prophethood.
