Commentary

And when this denial was included, it caused his saying: "So they denied him." Then it caused his saying: "So We destroyed them." That is, by the wind, by which We have the greatness that is not mentioned in the presence of their greatness, and the power by which their strength was. "Indeed, in that" means: the destruction in every generation for the disobedient and the salvation for the obedient. "Is a sign" means: a great sign for those after them, upon the fact that He, glorified and exalted is He, is the sole doer of that because He establishes the truth and abolishes falsehood, and that He, with His allies and those who are with Him, does not humiliate, and against His enemies and those who are upon Him, does not honor. "And what was most of them" means: most of those who were after them "believers." So do not grieve over those who turn away from faith.
