Then this noble Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, prayed with his words: "When" [meaning: at the time] "their brother Hud said to them". They did not hesitate in denying him, nor did they delay in the time of his call for reflection or anything else. They had known the truthfulness of his brotherhood, his great sincerity, and his loyalty. "Indeed" [in the form of an offer] as a courtesy towards them and gentleness with them, and leniency for them, "you should be conscious" meaning: there should be among you piety for your Lord who created you, so that you may worship Him alone and not associate with Him that which does not harm or benefit.
