And when there was in this story the greatest deterrent from polytheism, and a command to believe, He alerted to that by His saying: "Indeed, in that" meaning: this great matter which I have narrated from the words of Ibrahim, peace be upon him, in establishing the proof against the invalidity of idols, and setting the evidence that there is no truth except the Majestic, the Just King. And His encouragement and intimidation, and His guidance to prepare provisions during the days of the month of Muharram. "A sign" meaning: a great one against the invalidity of falsehood and the rights of truth. "And what" meaning: while the case is that "most of them" meaning: those who witnessed this great matter from him and those who heard it from him "were not believers" meaning: to the extent that faith became a fixed attribute for them. And in that is the greatest consolation for the Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, with his greatest forefathers, may peace and blessings be upon them.
