Commentary
And when He, glorified and exalted is He, mentioned that among the fruits of the revelation of the Qur'an are stars that revive the hearts, which are the souls of the souls, and followed it with what is appropriate, until He concluded with what He made a cause for the life of the bodies, it became a place for the expectation of returning to what is the life of the souls. He said, adding to the connection of ﴿Thus, We establish﴾ [Al-Furqan: 32], alerting to another benefit of its gradual revelation: ﴿And We have certainly made it clear﴾, meaning We directed the Qur'an. As Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, said, this is what is meant here, and what follows supports it - ways of expression, and we approached it in ways that exhaust the masters of language, in many meanings indeed ﴿Between them﴾ in every region among every people ﴿So that they may remember﴾ with the audible signs what We have instilled in their innate nature from rational evidence, supported by the visible signs, even if it is on the slightest ways of remembrance that save them - as indicated by the merging. And when the Qur'an is a leader, and it is necessary for one who is fair to believe, it indicates that the one who is negligent of it is indeed a denier, by his saying: ﴿But he refused﴾, meaning he did not want ﴿Most of the people﴾, meaning by their denial ﴿Except disbelief﴾, the source of 'kafara', exaggerated in it.
