And when it was established by what he affirmed for his noble self of perfection that there is no barrier to the existence of what they brought forth as a rebuke except for the lack of will, not due to the inability of the Creator nor the humiliation of the created, it was a consolation for him, blessings and peace be upon him, in a manner indicating that He would grant him that. He also consoled him by saying that what they attributed to him, they do not believe in its reality. So he turned away from their words, saying: "Rather," meaning do not think that they denied what you brought because they believe in you as a liar and a slanderer of the Qur'an, or that they think less of your eating food and walking in the markets, or in any of your conditions, or do not think that they deny His ability, glorified and exalted is He, over what He mentioned that if He wills, He can make it for you. Rather, the meaning is: leave off pondering over what they said of this, for they did not limit their denial to him, but rather "they denied the Hour," meaning they denied our ability over it. This settled in their souls for long ages, and they took it from predecessors, and their hearts were filled with love for this fleeting material, and their imaginations were bound by these appearances like animals. Thus, it became difficult for them to detach from that by what came to them of the clear evidence in which they do not doubt. Therefore, they dared to be obstinate due to the lack of fear from the horrors of the Day of Resurrection, as He, glorified and exalted is He, said about the people of the Book: "And they were deceived in their religion by what they were fabricating" [Aal 'Imran: 24]. "And We have prepared" meaning while We have prepared, meaning We have made ready with what We have of greatness "for whoever denies" from these and others "the Hour a blazing fire," meaning a fire of intense burning due to the enormity of the blaze in the hearts of those who denied them from the prophets, blessings and peace be upon them, and their followers, may Allah be pleased with them.
