And when the concealment of these verses from some, after their clarification, is more astonishing than the beginning of their establishment, the context is evident that the meaning is: and Allah leads astray whom He wills, so they disbelieve in the verses and the wise reminder. And the emergence from its light after being adorned with it into darkness is even more strange. Therefore, I have added to what I have estimated from what the context indicates, the most complete indication of His saying as a witnessing evidence for that which is concealed, astonishing is the one who is blind to the signs of monotheism which He, glorified and exalted is He, established, enumerated, and clarified, until they became, as He mentioned, greater than the light of the sun: 'And they say' meaning those to whom the light of Allah has appeared, with their tongues only: 'We have believed in Allah' who has made clear to us His majesty, greatness, and perfection, 'and in the Messenger' whose message we have known to be complete and universal by the evidence He has established for it, 'and we obeyed' meaning we have established obedience to Allah and to the Messenger. And He emphasized the contradiction between action and saying with the tool of distance, so He said: 'Then they turn away' meaning they retreat with the denial of the heart and turn away from the obedience of Allah and His Messenger, in deviation from them away from the truth. 'A group of them' meaning people who seek separation from those who have said this statement.

And when it should be that the occurrence of apostasy from them - as has been indicated - is at the utmost distance, even if it is in the shortest time, He indicated it with the tool of delay, and confirmed that with His saying affirming the preposition: 'After that' meaning the sound, strong, and confirmed saying, along with Allah who is greater than everything, and along with His Messenger who is the noblest of creation. 'And those are' meaning the distant, despised ones who have become, by their turning away, in a state of distance 'from the believers' meaning from those who are complete in faith in saying and belief, and they are only among the people of the linguistic description, devoid of the meaning of true conviction.
