And when patience upon it is unbearable except by Him, glorified and exalted is He, He commanded him to pray with that, so He said: "And say, My Lord," O You who are good to me, "I seek refuge in You" meaning I take refuge in You "from the whisperings of the devils" meaning that they reach me with their whispers which are like the prick of a goad in pushing into sins and distancing from the absolute good deeds.
