And for this reason, he began his saying: ﴿They will say to Allah﴾, meaning the One in whose hand is that, specifically referring to Him. The interpretation for those who are not from Al-Basrah is: all of that is for Allah, for the hand is the clearest evidence of ownership.

And when their response by that necessitates denying their hesitation in acknowledging the resurrection, he began his saying: ﴿Say﴾, denying to them the reason for that being their claim that it is magic, or diverting from the truth as the bewitched is diverted. ﴿So how are you bewitched?﴾, meaning how, after your acknowledgment of all of this, do you claim that the warning of resurrection is magic in your saying: 'Will you come to magic while you see?' And from where did this belief come to you, while you have acknowledged what necessitates the completeness of knowledge and the fullness of ability? And from where do you imagine the truth to be false, or how do you act in the manner of the bewitched with what you bring forth in planning in words and actions, and you are deceived and diverted from all that which you are called to?
