Until when We open, meaning with what We have of greatness. This indicates that it is the opening of punishment. "When they are in it" means that door, they are confined and cannot find any way to escape. "Despairing" means confused, remaining silent about what is in their souls, hopeless, unable to utter a word. They are entering into despair, which is the absence of good, prepared to dwell in 'Bawlus,' which is the prison of Hell, due to their failure to make supplication a constant attribute for them, not temporary, and the fear of Allah a permanent slogan that does not depart from them, in remembrance of His power and in awe of His greatness.
