Then he informed that he did not hasten upon any of them before the appointed time which he determined for them by saying: "Nothing will precede." And perhaps he expressed it in the present tense as an indication that nothing of that was or will be. He referred to the comprehensiveness by saying: "From a nation whose appointed time we have determined," meaning that which we have decreed for its destruction, "and they will not be delayed from it." And all of them have resulted in the outcome of disappointment for the disbelievers and success for the believers, making them after them the inheritors. He reversed this arrangement in other verses, for he prioritized the delay because he had made the coming of the appointed time there, so there would be no consideration then except for the delay.
