Commentary
And when he indicated to him with this saying about safety in carrying, he followed the indication with the promise of settling the land. He said: 'And say, My Lord, cause me to land in a blessed landing place, and You are the best of those who bring to land.' This is in the ship, then in the land, and in every place You cause me to land and grant me as an inheritance. 'A blessed landing place' means a place suitable for it to remain in or by which it is established. And when praise is the greatest motivator for responding to supplication, and the estimation is, 'Indeed, You are the best of those who carry,' he added to it his saying: 'And You are the best of those who bring to land,' because You suffice Your guest in every calamity and give him all that he desires.
