Commentary
And when the ability to resurrect has been established with certainty that no rational person doubts, he said, negating what the exposure of the context may suggest: "Then indeed you will be resurrected." He specified the greater resurrection, which is the place of reward and punishment. This is because whoever acknowledges what is less than it, such as life in the grave and others, he said: "On the Day of Resurrection," meaning the day in which all creatures will be gathered. "You will be resurrected," and its omission from the affirmation of death serves as a reminder of its occurrence. However, it does not exclude the affirmation of life in the grave at the time of questioning.
