Commentary
And when the soul longed after the knowledge of what was done to their enemies regarding their recompense, he said: "Indeed, I have rewarded them" meaning in return for their deeds "today for what they were patient with" meaning for their worship of Me, and their pain from your harm did not distract them from it, just as your enjoyment of their humiliation distracted you from it. Their victory is beyond you, and this is the meaning of his saying: "Indeed, they are" meaning specifically "the successful ones" meaning (p-192) those who are saved and victorious with good after being on the brink of destruction. And he changed the expression to convey specificity, clarity, and firmness, and he broke the hamzah, Hamzah and Al-Kisai on the resumption.
