And let those who have been given knowledge know, with the precision of its proofs, and the strength of its arguments, and the weakness of the doubts of the challengers. And his action was built for the unknown, in order to magnify its fruit in the essence of itself, not in relation to a specific giver. That is, the thing which you recited or spoke of, the truth, meaning the established fact which cannot be removed, from your Lord, meaning the One who has done good to you by teaching you it. For the truth, whenever its people are debated, its proofs appear, its faces shine, its arguments clarify, and its depths overwhelm, as He, glorified and exalted is He, said: 'He misleads many by it and guides many by it' [Al-Baqarah: 26]. So they believe in it because of what has become clear to them of its correctness, due to the weakness that has appeared from those doubts. So their hearts submit, meaning they find peace and humble themselves to it, and their hearts find tranquility by it. For Allah has placed in them serenity, making it like glass, solid, clear, and delicate between the watery and the stony, beneficial by understanding the knowledge and preserving it, and guidance by it for those who accept from them among the misguided, just as the good is beneficial by the acceptance of one group of it for a group of water, and the growth of what Allah has decreed of vegetation and others, and the preservation of one group for another group of it for the drinking of animals. And indeed, Allah, with His majesty and greatness, guides them. However, He has made clear a warning regarding the reason for knowledge, saying: 'To guide those who have believed' in all that the allies of Satan cast, to a straight path, by which they reach the knowledge of its falsehood, and that leads them to the happiness of both abodes.
