Commentary

﴿It is written﴾ meaning it has been decreed and determined in a manner that is inevitable, an expression that necessarily implies the consequence of it. ﴿Upon him﴾ meaning upon that devil. (p-8) ﴿That whoever takes him as a protector﴾ meaning he acts with him in the manner of a protector with his protector, by following him and turning towards what he beautifies for him. ﴿Then indeed he misleads him﴾ by what makes obedience distasteful to him, so he goes astray from the path of goodness.

And when he repels him from taking him as a protector by misleading him, because misguidance is disliked by everyone, he clarified that it is a misguidance without any guidance with it at all. So he said: ﴿And He guides him﴾ meaning by what he beautifies for him from the desires that lead to slips, informing that if he has any guidance to something, it is ﴿to the punishment of the blazing fire﴾.
