And when it became clear the contradiction in their saying, despite its abundance, and their claim of wisdom and eloquence, and their actions despite their multitude and their assertion of strength and bravery, it was established that his words, which contradict that, are from Allah due to the established correctness of their meanings and their precision. After it became evident from the miraculous nature of their arrangement and the beauty of their coherence, he was commanded to clarify that to them by saying: "Say, I only warn you" O disbelievers, "by the revelation" meaning that which is brought by the angel [from Allah]. So there is no flaw in any part of its arrangement or its meaning, while you do not hear - according to the reading of the majority - and while you do not make them hear - according to the reading of Ibn 'Amir with the damm on the first letter and the kasra of the meem and the nasb of the deaf specifically. However, since they did not benefit from his warning due to their deafness and their putting their fingers in their ears at the time of the warning, he counted them as deaf. And he made the description apparent to connect the ruling to it, saying: "And the deaf do not hear the call" meaning from whoever calls them, or it could be connected to what you can interpret: If your hearing is sound, you would have heard and responded. And he alerted by saying: "When they are warned" indicating that the barrier for them, along with their deafness, is their aversion to the warning, and by using the passive form regarding the warned.
