بَلۡ مَتَّعۡنَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَءَابَآءَهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ طَالَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡعُمُرُۗ أَفَلَا يَرَوۡنَ أَنَّا نَأۡتِي ٱلۡأَرۡضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنۡ أَطۡرَافِهَآۚ أَفَهُمُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبُونَ ٤٤ ﴿44
44But We have given benefits to these and their fathers until life was prolonged for them. So do they not see that We are coming to the land narrowing it down from all its sides? Then, are they the ones to prevail?

And when this did not suffice to be a reason for their delusion, he turned away from it, saying in a manifestation of greatness, indicating that their being deceived by Him, glorified and exalted is He, with what He has of signs of majesty, is among the most astonishing of wonders, based on the manner of "there is no protector for them from Him nor any preventer": "Rather, We have granted enjoyment to these," meaning the disbelievers, despite their insignificance, or the turning away from their inability to attain victory. The meaning is that what they are in of protection is indeed from Us for the sake of granting them enjoyment with that which only a deluded one would be changed by.
