Commentary
And when He condemned haste, which is the desire for something before its time, and forbade it, He said, indicating it and adding to the agent of "this": ﴿And they say﴾ [meaning -] in their mockery of the allies of Allah: ﴿When is this﴾ and they ridiculed with their saying: ﴿The promise﴾ [meaning -] regarding the coming of the signs of the Hour and its precursors and others. And they increased in incitement and provocation with denial, saying: ﴿If you are truthful﴾ meaning - deeply rooted in this description indeed - by what the description and the act of existence indicated.
