And when his action was a cause of separating the Children of Israel from the path of truth that they were upon, and gathering them upon the likeness of an animal that is among the most despicable of animals, and upon himself by being followed in that misguidance, because he was its cause, he was punished by being repelled from the human being who is the noblest of animals. This was to be a cause for the opposite of what he caused by his action, so he is punished in this world with a punishment that is nothing more severe than it, which is that he is completely prevented from mingling with people, so that he does not connect with anyone nor does anyone connect with him. Rather, he will be alone and exiled as long as he is alive. For this reason, the narration about this was resumed with His saying, the Exalted: "He said" meaning to him, Moses, blessings and peace be upon him: "Go" meaning as a result of your action, I say to you: go [from among us, or -] wherever you go. "For you have in life" meaning as long as you are alive "to say" to everyone you see: "No touching" meaning do not touch me nor shall I touch you, so you cannot break away from that due to the will of the true God, that is with you and your desire for it - by what the lam has indicated, so that you and those who follow you may know that you were upon the greatest misguidance in abandoning the One who has power over all things, and following that which has no power over anything. "And indeed, for you" after death "is an appointment" for reward if you repent, and for punishment if you refuse. "It will not be missed" built for the doer and the object, meaning there will be no one behind you nor will you be behind it, but each of you will be facing his companion, with no way to break away from him, just as you in life cannot break away from the repulsion from people. So choose for yourself what pleases you.
And when he mentioned what the true God has of complete power in both abodes, he followed it with the impotence of the calf and said: "And look at your god" meaning by your claim "that you were devoted to" meaning you were [for a very short time - as indicated by the lightening of the weakening -] "steadfast upon it" meaning approaching and persistently devoted [openly -] "We will surely burn it" meaning with fire and with the file - as has been previously stated from the text of the Torah. The meaning of this was that he protected it until it softened and became insignificant to the files. "Then we will surely scatter it" meaning we will surely make it dust [when it becomes dust -] "in the sea" meaning the sea that [Allah drowned the people of Pharaoh in -] is worthy of being targeted [and Allah will gather its dust which is from their ornaments and their wealth, and He will protect it in the fire of Hell and punish them with it and make it among the severest of punishments upon them. And the action was emphasized to show the greatness of Allah who commanded it, and to affirm the truthfulness of the promise, so He said -]: "scattering."
