And Musa, our chosen one, hastened to ascend it, eager for that noble station, while the coming of his people was delayed from coming with him. So we said: 'What has delayed your people from coming with you?' He turned to him with his words: 'And what has made you hasten?' meaning what has necessitated your haste in coming 'from your people?' And although you hastened the haste of one who is eager for approval, did you not know that the boundaries of kings should not be transgressed by advance or delay? 'O Musa,' so why did you not come all together and wait for a new command regarding the specific time in which I summon you?
