Commentary
And whoever comes to Him, meaning his Lord who created him and nurtured him, as a believer, meaning one who affirms Him. And since it has been established that mere disbelief necessitates punishment, this is a place where it is expected to be informed about faith in such a manner. So he said: "Indeed," meaning he added to that the affirmation of his faith that he has "done" meaning in this world "righteous deeds" which he was commanded to do. It is as if sincere faith necessitates righteous actions. So those are of the highest rank, for them are the elevated degrees, which have no comparison to the degrees that You promised us.
