Commentary
And when the king cannot achieve the utmost order except by encompassing knowledge, and since the king among humans may not know the conditions of the farthest reaches of his kingdom as he knows the conditions of its nearest parts, especially if it is vast, some of his matters may become unsettled. Know that He, glorified and exalted is He, is unlike that. So He said, urging to be watchful of Him and sincere to Him: "And if you speak aloud" meaning with this Qur'an for the purpose of glad tidings and warning or for other than that or with something else. For He is All-Knowing of it and does not need to speak aloud. So do not overexert yourself in what you have not been commanded to speak aloud for a purpose other than making it heard. "For He knows the secret" which is what the two converse about secretly. "And more hidden than that," which is what is in the hearts of what thoughts have imagined and has not manifested outwardly, and other than it from the unseen that no one knows except Him, the Exalted, in one of the ways, and among it is what will be from the hearts.
