Commentary
'So gather your plan.' This means do not leave anything of it except that you come with it, and do not differ, for you will weaken. 'Then come' to meet Musa and Harun for their contest. 'In rows' means as competitors, equal in the race, so that your matter may prevail over them and you may succeed. The alignment is more awe-inspiring in the hearts of the spectators. And when the implication was: [So whoever -] comes like that [then indeed -] has prevailed, they emphasized their saying: 'And indeed today has succeeded' in this gathering which has never gathered its like. 'Whoever has prevailed' means has overcome and found his superiority, that is, they did what was previously mentioned and came in rows. When they came and were knowledgeable about what to say that would benefit them in confronting Musa, the narration about him was resumed with His saying:
