Then he connected with that what was previously in it from the rational evidence of the oneness of the Creator and His choice. He said: "The One who made for you, O creatures, the earth, meaning He made most of it a cradle upon which you spread out, and He made some of it mountains upon which it is impossible to settle, and some of it soft ground in which the feet roam, and some of it is hard skin - and other than that from what you observe in it of the differences. "And He made for you in it paths," meaning He facilitated ways for you to traverse in lands that are flat and rugged, situated between the mountains, valleys, and sands. He prepared for you in it benefits from water and pastures that ease that, and He made in it what cannot be traversed at all, from the fact that the ratio of the whole to nature is one. If it were not that the doer is one and chosen, this variation and this marvelous order would not exist. "And He sent down from the sky water," which you observe to be one in color and taste.
And when what arises from it is more indicative of greatness and clearer to the observer and more manifest to the minds.
The Messenger ﷺ immersed in the seas of majesty, and he realized that the one commanding him with these words is the speaker of them in reality, transcending himself and all of creation. So he expressed that, returning from the absence to the expression of the speaker who is obeyed by virtue of his greatness by saying: "So We brought forth," meaning by virtue of the greatness that the differing things submit to, "with it pairs," meaning - types that are similar in which there is nothing that is one without a likeness to it, "from various plants," meaning very different in colors, quantities, benefits, natures, and tastes.
