Commentary
And when there was no one to refute this answer before, because there was no error in it nor flaw - with its elegance, brevity, and its precedence in gathering to the extent of its scope - the speech was swiftly diverted out of fear of clarity, with the addition of Musa, peace be upon him, in the clarification, so that corruption appears from righteousness, to something in which the field is wide, and no proof stands upon it, thus it is possible to refute it. So He informed about it, glorified and exalted is He, in the manner of resuming with His saying: "He said, 'So what'" meaning, what resulted from this regarding your Lord's knowledge of every existing thing, that I say to you: "So what is the news of the first nations" which is in greatness to the extent that it has not mixed with anyone except that it has turned him and inclined him - and although it is a deviation, it is one of the signs of severance, yet it is a deeply rooted act in deceit and trickery.
