And when the indication of the meaning of support is here - as previously required, He repeated and said: "The Messenger of your Lord"; who raised you and perfected your upbringing after He brought you into existence from non-existence, indicating his belittlement by stating that he is among the servants of His Sender, denying him in his claim of divinity. Then it resulted from your sending to him your saying: "So send with us" His servants, "the Children of Israel" to worship Him, for none is worthy of worship except Him. "And do not punish them" with what you punish them with from using and slaughtering them; then He justified the claim of the message with what affirms it, saying, beginning with the letter of expectation, for the condition of the listener to the claim of the message is to expect a sign of the sending: "Indeed, we have come to you with a sign"; that is, a great sign and proof and evidence from your Lord, from whom there is no goodness upon you except from Him, necessitating the acceptance of what we claimed from the staff and the hand and others. So submit and you will be safe. And in the repetition of addressing him with that is an affirmation of his rebuke in claiming divinity and attributing it to the denial of goodness. So peace be upon you especially if you accept the guidance of Allah. "And peace"; that is, its kind, "be upon" all "who follow" to the best of their ability "the guidance" in general. And if this kind is upon them, it is known that the destruction is upon others than them. So the meaning is: "And if you refuse, you will be punished."
