And when he mentioned the humility of the voices, he followed it with the submission of those beneath it and said: ﴿And the faces will be humbled﴾ meaning they will be humbled, submissive, and surrendering [the faces of all creatures -], and he specified it for its honor and because it is the first to show in it the humiliation ﴿to the Ever-Living﴾ who is aware of the subtleties and the great matters, and everything else is lifeless where its life is attributed to His life ﴿the Sustainer﴾ who does not overlook the management and the recompense of every soul for what it has earned ﴿And indeed has failed﴾ meaning has lost [a clear loss -] ﴿whoever carries﴾ from them [or from others -] ﴿wrongdoing﴾.
