And when he established for this group the cutting off from Allah by that of which they have no knowledge, and this was known as blameworthy and certain sin, it caused blame and sin through the first way for a group that is the worst of them and most harmful to the servants of Allah and their enemies. He said: "So woe" and woe is the gathering of all evil - this was said by al-Harali.

"For those who write" means from them and from others, "the book" means that which they know is from them and not from Allah. "With their own hands" and he pointed to the ugliness of this lie and the distance of its rank in wickedness with the tool of delay, so he said: "Then they say" regarding what they have written falsely and slanderously, "This is from Allah, the Greatest King." Then he clarified by the reason that carries them to that their baseness and their throwing themselves into filth and their lowliness, so he said: "To exchange it for a small price". Then he caused from it his saying: "So woe to them for what their own hands have written" from that lie against Allah, "and woe to them for what they earn" meaning they find their earning from what they have exchanged it for. And he made the action bare for the clarity of its indication of wickedness by the evidence of what has preceded. And if the bare action is like that, then its opposite is more deserving. Al-Harali said: And the earning is what flows from action, words, deeds, and effects upon a feeling of grace in it and strength upon it. This has ended. And in this verse is a clarification of what our book has been honored with, that due to its miraculous nature, no one can come from it with what they insert into it to confuse with it - so to Allah belongs the grace upon us and the favor.
