And when the speech indicates that the meaning of the estimation is their understanding of their boldness against Allah, when they heard your Book, they distorted it. And when they spoke to the servants of Allah, they hardly spoke the truth. He then referred to His saying, "And when they met those who believed," about our Prophet Muhammad, blessings and peace be upon him. They said, hypocritically among themselves, "We have believed," and when some of them met others, they said, blaming each other, thinking from them, in ignorance of Allah, when they found many of their secrets and hidden news that are in their Book from the subtleties and other than that with the believers, despite their effort in concealing it, that some of them revealed it, so it became known by him. "Do you inform them" from the informing, which is the repetition of the occurrence of the saying, "with what Allah has opened for you" the Majestic and Beautiful, "of the ancient knowledge that has come to you on the tongues of your messengers or with what some of you have been punished." And the opening, Al-Harali said, is the expansion of the narrowness, in sense and meaning. "So that they may argue with you" meaning the believers, "by it before your Lord," and the argument is the affirmation of the intention and opinion with what corrects it. And when they had among themselves that revealing such things is the act of one who does not act, they said in denial from some of them to each other, "Do you not understand?" And it is possible that it is a speech to the believing addressees who are hopeful, meaning, "Do you not have reason to prevent you from attaching hope to their belief?"
