Commentary

And when the Most High clarified what He has taken away from the disbelievers of His love, He followed it with what He has affirmed for the believing, truthful ones of mercy, which He has indicated to them previously by showing kindness towards those not mentioned alongside it, as has been stated earlier, in a manner that does not exclude mentioning spending. So He, the Most High, said, indicating the counterpart of ﴿And whoever returns﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 275] ﴿Indeed, those who have believed﴾ meaning, those who have affirmed all that the messengers, blessings and peace be upon him, brought to them from Allah, glorified and exalted is He, ﴿and acted﴾ in affirmation of their faith ﴿with righteous deeds﴾ in compliance and conclusion, especially leaving usury.

And when prayer is the essence of religion between truth and creation, He specified it by mentioning it, saying: ﴿And they establish prayer﴾ with all its limits. ﴿Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing﴾ [Al-Ankabut: 45]. And when preference is the noblest act between truth and creation, and its essence is to give the obligatory from wealth willingly, He said: ﴿And they give zakah﴾ in addition to not being stingy, in addition to not engaging in usury. And it indicated that their reward is according to their intentions for their steadfastness in the trial of apostasy by His saying: ﴿For them is their reward﴾. And He informed of its preservation and increase by His saying: ﴿With their Lord﴾. And He announced the completeness of their benefit by His saying: ﴿And there is no fear upon them﴾ meaning from anything that may come to them that does not suit them, for they are under the protection of the Mighty, the All-Knowing. ﴿And they will not grieve﴾ over anything that has passed them, for they are in the utmost satisfaction with what they are in. And for the great benefit in this, He repeated it in these verses more than once and mentioned it repeatedly in succession.
