And when He, glorified and exalted is He, mentioned the provision for the one who has passed away from them, He followed it with the provision for the divorced women, emphasizing the ruling by repetition and generalizing after specifying some of its individuals. He, exalted is He, said: "And for the divorced women" meaning any of those who have been entered upon with any type of divorce, "is provision" meaning from the husband, compensating for what has occurred to her from the breaking, "in a good manner" meaning according to their situation, "a duty upon the righteous."

Al-Harali said: (p-384) Wherein what was before the entering is a duty upon the doers of good, the doer of good provides in the easiest manner in words without excess, and the righteous is entitled to the provision in proportion to what has occurred to him from the sanctity of excess and for what has occurred between them from hardship and distress. Thus, in the provision there is removal of some of that and maintenance with peace or affection - this has ended.

And there is an indication in it that divorce is like death due to the severing of the bond of connection which is like life, and that the provision is like inheritance.
