And when He, the Most High, commanded with His saying: ﴿Say, rather the religion of Ibrahim﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 135], and after that by informing the adversary of the disagreement and that there is no agreement except by abandoning desires and following guidance, He commanded to argue with them in a way that would undermine their words and remove their doubts. He said, hinting in the address away from the group and directing it to His Messenger ﷺ, elevating his rank and informing of the high status of his position, indicating that none but he can undertake that due to their knowledge along with what they have of argumentation and obstinacy: ﴿Say﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 135], denying their argumentation and reproaching them for it: ﴿Do you argue with us﴾. And since the most appropriate in the debate is to inform the adversary of the disagreement (p-196) because it is more decisive for his greed and more conducive to his anger, while it is here closer to the pleasure of the Creator, it was presented over the argumentation. The meaning of His saying: ﴿In Allah﴾ is in your exclusivity to the dominion which there is no dominion besides it, for He has all perfection, which was indicated to be invalidated in what preceded by His saying: ﴿Say, if the Hereafter with Allah is exclusively yours﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 94], meaning: Do you argue with us in that while there is no justification for your exclusivity to it? ﴿And He﴾ meaning: while He is ﴿Our Lord and your Lord﴾, we and you are equal in servitude to Him. ﴿And for us are our deeds﴾, we exclusively have them without you. ﴿And for you are your deeds﴾, you exclusively have them without us. We do not fear from Him that He would assign you our deeds or anything from them for you to be exclusive to it with Him, nor that He would assign us your deeds or anything from them for us to distance ourselves from Him unjustly or mistakenly, for He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, the Self-Sufficient, the Praiseworthy. ﴿And we﴾ have better deeds than you because we are solely ﴿For Him﴾ alone ﴿Sincere﴾, we do not associate anything with Him, while you associate with Him ‘Uzayr and the Messiah and the scholars and the monks, and you know that in the depths of the matter even if you manifest otherwise. Therefore, it is necessary to conclude that we are more exclusive to Him than you; and sincerity is the complete detachment of the self. A servant does not reach its reality until he does not love to be praised for an action.
