And when Ismail, peace be upon him, was raised alive to the highest place on earth in rank, and he was the first prophet to shoot arrows, and Idris, peace be upon him, with his elevation to the high place, was the first to take up arms and fight the disbelievers. He was the first to look into the science of stars and calculations, to write with the pen, to sew garments, and to wear the [jubbah]. He had the strangest story among them, and his matter was the most astonishing, and he was the most ancient in time. He concluded these stories [as a support for this noble prophet, with what was clarified to him from the stories] which are stranger than what the Jews commanded to be obstinate about. This indicates that Allah, glorified and exalted is He, grants His followers knowledge of the earthly and heavenly sciences of Idris that is worthy of being preserved in writing and deposited in the depths of books due to the narrowness of chests in preserving it, which has not been granted to any nation. And that He gathers them together, and as a warning to the obstinate that if they do not cease, He will place weapons among them as Idris, peace be upon him, did with the disbelievers of his time. He said: 'And mention in the Book' [that is -] the comprehensive (p-216) of all that is needed from the stories of the ancients and the later ones, 'Idris' that is, the one who is further away from those whom the Jews were obstinate about in time, and whose affair was more concealed than theirs. He is the grandfather of Abu Nuh, peace be upon him, and his name is Hanukh, with a silent letter and a noon, and the last letter is pronounced. 'Indeed, he was a Siddiq' that is, truthful in his sayings and actions, and affirming what was brought to him from Allah's signs on the tongues of the angels. 'A prophet' whom Allah, glorified and exalted is He, informs of what He reveals [to him] of the great matter, elevating his status, so he informs the people to whom he was sent.
