And the reading of the others with a kasra indicates that it is a saying of Jesus, blessings and peace be upon him, in the past, and the interruption of what has preceded from the words of Allah between them is for emphasis and concern.

And when the sharing of creatures in the worship of the Creator through the actions of the heart and limbs is the most just of matters, he indicated that by saying: 'This,' meaning that which I have commanded you with, 'is a straight path,' because we have given the truth to its people by believing in the truth and doing righteous deeds, and no one among us has favored another in it.
