Commentary
Then he informed about what he has from Allah of the everlasting honor, indicating that no enemy can harm him. He also indicated that he is a servant who is not suitable to be a god, and about the resurrection he said: "And peace" meaning its kind "be upon me". No one can harm me "on the day I was born". The devil did not harm me, and whoever is born cannot be a god. "And on the day I die" likewise, I will die in complete body and religion. No one can diminish either of them from me, whoever they may be. "And on the day I am resurrected alive" on the Day of Resurrection, as previously mentioned regarding Yahya, peace be upon him. This indicates that in humanity he is like him, as he did not separate from him except in being from a non-male. And if the kind of peace is upon him, then the curse is upon his enemies. So it is good news for whoever believes in him, for he is from him, and a warning for whoever disbelieves in him. And there was not for our Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him and his family, anything like this miracle so that his state would not be confused with that of the soothsayers, because his people had no experience with miracles except among themselves. If this was established in their souls from childhood, it would be difficult to remove it, and there was nothing to negate it during childhood. Thus, it was compensated by the speaking of infants like the blessed Yamama and others, and the speaking of mute animals, and even the inanimate objects like stones and the poisoned sheep's foreleg and the dry trunk, and others.
