Commentary
﴿And righteous﴾ means [and] He made me righteous, that is, broad in character and pure. (p-194) And since the context is for her innocence, the truth in describing her is clear. He explicitly stated her innocence and said: ﴿To my mother﴾ that is, the one whom Allah honored with the chastity of her private parts and carrying me without a male. So, there is no father for me other than her. ﴿And He did not make me a tyrant, wretched﴾ by causing me to act like the tyrants without deserving it. Rather, I only act like that towards those who deserve it. And in this, there is an indication that the blameworthy tyranny is the act of the children of fornication, as they feel the deficiency within themselves and want to compensate for it by their tyranny.
