'He said,' [that is] Gabriel, peace be upon him, 'So will be the saying that I have said to you.' And when the state of affairs was saying: 'How can it be without a cause?' He answered with His saying: 'He said.' And when this surah was built upon mercy, kindness, and goodness towards the servants of the Most Merciful, He expressed it with the name of the Lord with which it began, unlike the Surah of Tawhid [Al-Imran], which began with the greatest name. He said: 'Your Lord is He,' meaning the mentioned one, which is the creation of the child in this form. 'Upon me,' meaning alone, no one else can do it. 'It is easy,' meaning - we have specified you with it to be a honor for you. And when that was among the greatest miracles, He indicated it with the 'n' in His saying, in addition to what I have decreed that the context has made clear: 'And let us make it,' by what we have of greatness, 'a sign for the people,' meaning a sign of the perfection of our ability to resurrect, more evident than the sign in Yahya, peace be upon him. And with it is the completion of the fourfold division in the creation of mankind. For indeed, He created him from a female without a male, and Hawwa from a male without a female, and Adam, peace be upon him, neither from a male nor a female, and the rest of his children from both male and female together. 'And a mercy from Us' for whoever believes in him at the beginning of his time, and for most of creation through faith and salvation from trials at the end of his time, not like the sign of Salih, peace be upon him, because it was a sign of the extermination of the people of misguidance. 'And that was all a decree that had been decreed,' meaning it was ruled upon, determined, and it is in the utmost ease, with no obstacle to it at all. And He indicated (the speed of causing the pregnancy) by this saying, even though the estimation is what has been guided to in other than this surah: 'So He blew into her garment, and the breath reached her womb.'
