Moses said: "Do not hold me accountable, O Khidr, for what I forgot of that condition. And do not burden me, meaning do not impose upon me what I cannot bear, and do not hasten me away from my intention by following you in a manner that is overwhelming, attributing to me foolishness and lightheadedness, and engaging in wrongdoing. Regarding my matter, it is difficult due to being held accountable for forgetting. Both of them are truthful in what they said, fulfilling according to what they have. As for Moses, peace be upon him, it is because it never occurred to him to agree to not forbid what he believes to be wrong. And as for Khidr, he was committed to what was in the essence of the matter because he does not proceed to do wrong. Nevertheless, he did not deny except the profound patience that he indicated by the increase of the letter of seeking. And what can be called patience occurred because when he reminded him, he refrained from it due to remembering Allah's praise of him that he does not do wrong. And the profound patience that is in Khidr's self did not occur through silence at the beginning of the matter and its end.
