Commentary

And when the speech was in the strength of being said: 'We have turned these news by what it indicated (p-88) of the great secrets, the proofs of the magnificent Shari'ah stood up, and with them the jewels of the radiant meanings illuminated. He means by saying: ﴿And certainly We have turned﴾ that is by what We have of greatness. And when this Surah was in the description of the Book, the concern for it necessitated its presentation in His saying, the Most High: ﴿In this Qur'an﴾ that is the valuable one in which there is no crookedness, along with its gathering of meanings and its spreading of the distinction between the confounding matters ﴿for the people﴾ that is the shaken ones, apart from the steadfast ones ﴿from every example﴾ that is We have turned the speech and approached it from every aspect of meanings and adorned it with elegant expressions and harmonious styles, which moved with its strangeness like a parable, accepted by everyone who hears it, and it is used as examples in all lands among the servants, so their hearts rejoice in it, and their tongues speak of it. Yet they did not accept it and argued about it; then He alerted to the description necessitating that by His saying, the Most High: ﴿And man﴾ who was made an adversary while he is most aware of himself by nature and disposition ﴿is the most contentious thing﴾ and He distinguished the majority by His saying, the Most High: ﴿arguing﴾ because he did not cease from arguing after this clarification, which illuminated all the worlds.
