Commentary
And when this example has been produced, it is certainly clear that there is no matter for anyone other than Allah that is hoped for in the victory of His allies after their humiliation, and for their enrichment after their poverty, [and for the humiliation of His enemies after their might and pride -], and their impoverishment after their enrichment and their being broken. And that anything else is merely like a shadow, having no reality to it. He has made this clear in His saying, the Most High: "There," meaning in such great hardships, "the authority" meaning the support - according to the reading with the opening, and "the sovereignty" - according to the reading with the broken. [And this is the reading of Hamzah (p-66) and Al-Kisai, and the opening is for others than them, and they are of one meaning, which is the source as it has been stated in the dictionary -]. "For Allah" [meaning -] the One who has all perfection, "the truth" [meaning -] the established that does not change for a day nor does it vanish, nor does He become heedless for an hour nor does He sleep, and there is no authority for anyone else in any way - this is according to the reading of the majority with the genitive [on the description -] and it is in the reading of Abu Amr and Al-Kisai with the nominative on the resumption and the cutting being minimal, indicating that their fleeing in such crises to Him without anyone else is a decisive proof that He is the truth and anything besides Him is falsehood, and that pride in transient possessions is from the most ignorant of ignorance, and that the believers are not harmed by their poverty nor is their expulsion for it justified, and that their poverty is soon to return as wealth and their weakness as strength.
And when it was known from that that He is taking hold of the hands of His [righteous -] servants and of the hands of His disobedient wicked ones, He, the Most High, said: "He is the best in reward" for whom He rewards, "and better in consequence" meaning a great outcome. For indeed, "actions" - with a dammah and with two dammahs - are from the forms of plural for multitude, and that will benefit him as an exaggeration even if it is not a gathering, and the meaning (p-67) is that [meaning His reward -] - for His allies is the best reward and his consequence is the best consequence.
