Then he increased in the greatness of this man and clarified that he has other than these two gardens [and the crops] by His saying: ﴿And he had﴾ meaning the owner of the two gardens ﴿fruit﴾ meaning fruitful wealth other than what [was mentioned] - much, with various types, so that he may be capable of construction with helpers and tools and all that he desires. ﴿He said﴾ meaning this disbeliever ﴿to his companion﴾ meaning the Muslim who is made an example for the poor believers ﴿and he﴾ meaning the owner of the gardens ﴿was conversing with him﴾ meaning he was discussing with him, [from -] حارَ يَحُورُ - if he returned boasting over him and disparaging his condition in relation to him, while the Muslim (p-59) was conversing with him with admonition and disparaging reliance on the world: ﴿I am more abundant than you in wealth﴾ for what you see of my gardens and my fruits ﴿and more honored in followers﴾ meaning people who stand with me in important matters, and who flee in times of necessity, because that is necessary for the abundance of wealth.
